Plein-air pencil drawing made in 2012 (see photos) ink added later. Size of original: 12”X7.5” Size of print: please specify, the same or smaller. Background on the Scale Model: students and faculty (Thomas Ayres) worked with CU to lay out a scale model solar system along the walkway from Fiske Planetarium northward to the Engineering complex for every meter (or foot) in the scale model, there are 10 billion meters (or feet) in the real solar system. The model is a memorial to astronaut Ellison Onizuka, a CU graduate who died in the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in January 1986.
